2018 CMA Fest & more

We've lived downtown adjacent for over five years and, like a lot of locals, we enjoy the spectacle of CMA Fest even if the music isn't our thing. I love watching how quickly our town changes for the event, the temporary stages, buildings, and everything else. We also absolutely love walking Magnus in the crowds, it's how we socialized him and he loves the attention he gets.

This year things felt a little different. Pedestrians seemed more likely to walk out in front of moving traffic like it didn't exist and vehicles were pushier, making for a scary combination. People trying to pet Magnus were WAY drunker (Magnus is not a fan of stumbley drunk people).

We really appreciate that the city left the downtown dog park open, so unlike last year, we had a place for Magnus and his puppy neighbors to play and enjoy.

My baby brother, Aaron, came to check out the festivities Saturday evening. It was wonderful to be able to host him and have a few good hours to visit around him checking out the sights.

Our Ride...

Our weekend bike rides are quickly becoming one of my favorite things. We went back to Shelby Bottoms Greenway on Sunday with Jake and road all the way to Two Rivers Greenway. Daniel and I stopped at the top of the big hill going down into Stones River Greenway, because we didn't want to come back up the hill. Jake decided to go for it. My phone locked up about the time we got into the park, so I had to restart and therefore don't have a great measure of the entire ride, but it looks like it was nearly 18 miles this week. We put new pedals on the bike and got a tire gauge that works with our tires so the ride was really comfortable - and fast!

This coming weekend we're heading to Washington DC for my cousins wedding and some sightseeing. I've already looked up tandem bikes to rent in the city! I think Daniel shared his addiction.
