Day One in Denver

We started our day by walking a few blocks to Olive & Finch for breakfast. Well that's not entirely true, we started our day trying to figure out how to regulate the water temperature in the shower, Victorian houses are fun. We had fresh squeezed juice, eggs, bacon, and biscuits all soy free.

When we were full and happy we walked to The Denver Museum of Miniatures. It is in a house that was built in the 1800's, it's another beautiful Victorian. Most of the bathrooms did not function as they had been remodeled last in the 1920's and so had been turned into small show rooms. The entire place was stuffed full of wonderful tiny things. I think both our favorites was the first large dollhouse that was on loan to the museum. The creepiest was the cat house... all of the people and dolls had cat heads, except one, which made it creepier.

After that we walked back to our bed and breakfast to rest. This altitude will zap your breath.

We walked to Noodles & Co for lunch because there online menu looked well marked and easy for me to eat. I had the chicken noodle soup, and it was really good. We also ordered cheesy bread because it said it was soy free, but it came as a baguette, which did have soy... So I avoided it.

After that we walked back to our bed and breakfast to drop off leftovers before calling a Lyft and heading to The Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Daniel & I love nature and science museums and this one was no different. One of my absolutely favorite things about Daniel is his childlike wonder and willingness to play, and museums of any kind bring that out in him. His eyes light up every time a new giant diorama or set of dinosaur bones appeared, it's seriously adorable. He says the same thing about me and the tiny things from the miniature museum.  I think my favorite thing (besides the dinosaurs obviously) were the Grizzly, Brown Bear, and Black Bear dioramas. I just didn't have a concept of how big Brown Bears are - they're HUGE. I didn't get pictures, because it just didn't come across how massive they were. We both really enjoyed the Geology exhibit too.

After the museum we caught another Lyft the the Bed & Breakfast, we've each already done more than 10,000 steps and we're ready to rest. Daniel being the lovely man he is, has headed out to pick us up some Indian food. Lamb korma has become a comfort food I get on most of our trips.
