The Hermitage, Jake’s Birthday, a bike ride, & a new game.

What a wonderful weekend Daniel and I enjoyed. I'm so thankful that after a week of forecasts promising rain, we got two beautiful weekend days to enjoy together.

Saturday morning we got up and headed to The Hermitage for Dog Days. One of the first things we found was a backpack to carry Magnus - turns out he loved it and we used it off and on through the day as he got tired and would lay down mid walk. We enjoyed exploring the grounds of the Hermitage for the first time and seeing all the puppies. I think our favorite part of the whole place was the spring house and the jaunt through the woods by the spring. It was just stunningly beautiful.

Saturday evening Jake and Kaylen came over to celebrate Jake's birthday with us. Daniel made an amazing keto feast for the celebration. After hanging out and eating, we went down to Broadway to see the spectacle.

Sunday morning we got a slow start, but ended up taking a 17.5 mile tandem ride through Shelby Bottoms again. We didn't stop for as many photos because it was the same route we took last week. But we did still manage to find some fun and interesting things that I had missed last week or had just come into bloom. I'm afraid I am getting addicted to the bike too...

We ended our weekend by playing the first full test round of the board game Daniel has been building. I am proud to be the Leslie Knope to my very own Ben Wyatt, Cones of Dunshire, here we come.
