Nashville is one of the biggest Independence Day celebration in the country, and it's literally at our back door. We like to hide in the air conditioning and enjoy ourselves around the house on the 4th of July, then sneak out for the Symphony and the longest fireworks ever (seriously 35-45 minutes). Then our favorite part starts, the pandemonium that happens when that many people leave downtown at one time. After over 5 years of watching the fireworks from here, I think Nashville is getting absolutely amazing at releasing people and controlling traffic during these crowds.
This year we started the day by hosting tea and lemonade to our neighborhood. Then we played a video game together all day. It was lovely.
Jake and Kaylen came over to watch the fireworks from our house. As usual, they were huge and beautiful. I got a new selfie stick for bike riding and we were playing with it to get firework selfies.
I hope you all had a happy, cool, and safe 4th of July this year.
