Daniel and I really love our weekends, we try to make the most of each and every one of them.
Before heading to the park, while it was really pouring down, we had some feathered visitors trying to stay dry on our balcony. How cute the little couple was. I was very happy they posed and danced for photos.
This weekend was the Tennessee Craft Fair at Centennial Park, it's one of my favorite local events. Despite the rain we headed over during one of the lighter chances of rain. We wore hats to celebrate derby day, in true Kentuckian fashion, and they helped us stay dry and look less like drowned rats.
What a great idea going in the rain was too, we've never been able to park so close during an event, and we basically had the place to ourselves! The ground was squishy, but we still got to meet lots of talented artist and add some beautiful pieces to our collection.
Sunday the sun was shining and we had plans to use it. Daniel and I started our day with a short 3-mile ride on the tandem on the downtown greenway. I had claimed I would not be riding every weekend, but I feel like I need regular practice if I'm ever going to feel not wobbly for the first mile. After our ride Daniel headed out for his 'real ride' for a total of over 19 miles for the day.
After he got home we rested for a while and it started raining again. The rain cleared in time for sundown and we took a gloaming hour walk to the dog park and got some amazing photos of Nashville in the light and rain. Magnus really enjoyed the empty dog park and all the attention he got from people lining up for the concert at the Ascend.
We got home just in time to put the new little couch on the porch and enjoy The Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Beck at the Ascend Amphitheater. They were both amazing, but I think Beck was surprised to find that yes, at 11 they will cut your mic and shut down the concert at the Ascend. It's a city ordinance and they are serious about it.
