Washington’s Birthday Weekend

We had an excellent long weekend! Thursday Daniel took off work to accompany me to some testing at Vanderbilt, it went really well. Afterwards we decided to celebrate with dinner at Martin's and since we've had many a meal at Martin's interrupted by other people's pups who bark or otherwise aren't sure how to behave in a restaurant we decided it would be a good test for Magnus. I know I often say I have the best dog, but this little guy did everything asked of him and did not beg or make a sound the entire time at the restaurant. I think he's very close to passing his Good Citizens test, now if I could ever get my stuff together to get him his cert....

Friday Daniel worked, but after lunch he worked from home, then we went to the Eventbrite party. We found out last minute that everyone was encouraged to dress disco, so we threw some things together and we looked amazing for last minute costumes from our closet. I found my favorite disco album from childhood on YouTube while getting ready and it was some of the only disco music we heard all night, they did not pull the disco theme through the live music. Thank goodness for Disco Duck's Dance Party. We had a great time at the party anyway, I love a chance to get to see the other EB wives.

Saturday it rained all day, so we worked on some chores around the house and added some additional art to our portfolio on this site. We now have many eras of our art shared here, and that makes us both very happy. We will be adding new art as it's made and old art as we scan and write about it, but with what's there it at least feels complete for now.

Sunday & Monday were absolutely beautiful weather and we did our best to take advantage of it. Sunday we did some shopping at REI to prepare for our upcoming Colorado trip, then we came home and took a nearly 4 mile walk around downtown. It was glorious. Monday, Magnus and I took a 2+ mile walk around the Ascend while Daniel took a short 6+ mile bike ride (I insisted he nurse his injured leg with a "short" ride).

Today we go back into the real world, but at least we have some beautiful photos from the weekend to enjoy (and some left over weather).
