First Weekend of February

We had an amazing warm weekend for February. I guess mother nature wanted to treat the groundhog and the rest of us to a spring-like weekend at the first of February.

Friday night we started off the weekend right with a trip to Von Elrods for my favorite sausage, the Angry Bird. It was absolutely delicious.

Saturday morning, we got up and Daniel made some delicious cheesy omelettes. After we were all full and happy we took Magnus to Beaman Park in West Nashville to hike Henry Hollow Loop Trail. It’s about 2.5 miles and very steep over several parts. It was a great hike.

We had lunch out and made instant pot spaghetti with squid ink noodles and sausage for dinner. Saturday was a great day for food.

Sunday we started the day with pancakes. When it got warmer in the afternoon we rode the tandem bike 11.5 miles in Shelby Bottoms. After our ride my brother Aaron called. He and Jamie were headed to Nashville and invited us to dinner.

We got cleaned up, met them at Trader Joe’s for Aaron’s first trip to my favorite grocery store and showed them the TJ ropes. After that we headed over to Chahauns for a wonderful meal and a great visit.

Daniel and I headed home and got ready for the work week.
