Pride Weekend

We're 3 or 4 classes into this semester of Pottery by Hand & Wheel. I'm working on some boxes for Siobhan. Daniel is working on a wheel project he's not ready to announce. It's been a productive semester so far.

Thursday I had a work board meeting in Bowling Green so was up there for the afternoon. I got to play with McKinley for a few hours and visit with Mom. After my meeting I went by Nat's Outdoor to schedule some work on our tandem, which will be going in soon for a checkup. I'm very rarely in Bowling Green when my favorite store, Beverly Hills Bargain Boutique, is open. I found a dress, a cardigan, and two shirts. If you're in Bowling Green for shopping, Nat's & Beverly Hills are still my favorite stores for what they do.  Afterward, I stopped by to see Dad and Aaron after they got off work.  It was a good visit.

Friday, Daniel stayed at work late for a celebration for one of his friends that's moving to a new amazing opportunity. After I stopped working from home, I took a short nap until Daniel got home. He stopped on his way and picked us up a deep dish pizza from Gino's East. That pizza is absolutely amazing, it being so close to the condo is going to be bad for our waistlines. Billie Eilish had a concert Friday at the Ascend Amphitheater. We get every concert at the Ascend, whether we want them or not. Billie Eilish had us both on the porch enjoying the music - despite the rain delay. Her concert was as good as any we've watched, ever. She performs like she's been touring 40 years. It was an amazing show.

Saturday is one of our favorite days in Nashville! We celebrated Pride. We missed the parade because we misunderstood the rain delay message. That was okay, we had a wonderful day. We love going and showing our support for our LGBTQA friends and family. It was an amazingly large turnout. They keep opening it to more streets every year, but I think it might be outgrowing the area for the crowd. Maybe they could open it up to Riverfront Park, that would get a lot more space. It's an amazing event, and was so large this year that the hateful speech outside was fully drowned out within blocks of the event.

After Pride, Jake & Kaylen came over for a visit. Since the rain had started we didn't get to go back out and just hung out in the living room and caught up.

Sunday we were exhausted from the heat and walking the day before. We downloaded Wizards Unite and started playing on our way to brunch. We played as long as we could stand the heat then headed home to rest for the day. I made peach cobbler and Daniel made these amazing Instant Pot pork chops for dinner. After dinner we headed out for a walk (and to play Wizards United) at 8:30 when it finally cooled down. I checked the weather and decided we had until 9:30 until the rain hit. It hit about 20 minutes early and we all got soaked. What an adventure. The good news is we all got a hot shower, so Magnus started the week smelling better than usual.

It was a busy and wonderful weekend. This week looks fairly quiet except for a few Ascend Concerts. I plan on walking and playing Wizards Unite as soon as the rain stops.
