I am so thankful to be lucky enough to have such a beautiful example of a loving and caring relationship as my Grandparents sixty years together.
John and Martha (McCarter) Schaeufele are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.
They met the Saturday evening before Thanksgiving in November 1958 at the party of a mutual friend. Their first date was that following Sunday at a church service at Glendale Baptist Church. They have remained inseparable ever since Glendale pastor Richard Oldham married them Jan. 30, 1959.
John is a retired Allstate agent, where he worked for 28 years. Martha was a secretary for a number of years at Warren Central High School.
Martha lived on Smallhouse Road when they met, and they now reside in the Massey Springs Retirement Village on Smallhouse Road.
They have two children, Joanna Embry of Bowling Green and Jay Schaeufele of Woodbridge, Va. They have six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.John and Martha would like to thank their extended families and friends for their love and support over these past six decades.
