We had plans with three different couples to go to the Tennessee Renaissance Festival on Saturday May 18. Daniel had a cyst removed on the Monday before and was not ready to attend a dusty, sweaty festival. Not wanting to let our friends down, I headed down on my own.
There is absolutely zero cell reception at the Festival grounds. Despite two groups already there I was meeting, I didn’t find one group until hours later.
I found Ryan and Leo first, Jo took this opportunity to have some quiet time. After a few hours of fun with Ryan and Leo I understood more why Jo needed some quiet time. Ryan and I enjoyed catching up and making summer concert plans. I loved seeing how big Leo has gotten and how impressive he is with a short sword.
I found Jake & Kaylen as they were burning from the sun and ready to head home. I was happy to see them for a few minutes and get hugs. Since Jake finished NSS and started his new job we don’t see as much of him when pottery class isn’t in session.
Ryan and Leo tired out as my friend Taylor and his daughter were parking. They missed meeting by minutes. It was sad because Ryan and Taylor would love to talk about music and being super tall dudes. Taylor, his daughter, and I watched a few shows and did some sword shopping before I had to head home. I wish I had bought the same purple sword I helped someone else find, it was so cool. I had to head home after the very impressive fire juggling. There is very little soy free safe food at events like this.
It was a wonderful day, despite the heat and lack of cell reception. I wish I had remembered to take more photos.
