February. It's been three months long, at least. And our playlist shows that it's all over the place.
We start off with a collab from Two Feet/Grandson called "Until I Come Home". It doesn't define the vibe of the rest of the playlist at all, but it is a fine bop with an infectious twangy chorus.
Song two is where inspiration hit. Ammi looked up the pop charts in España and we took several right off the top. Cayó La Noche [Remix] is nearly 7 minutes of very catchy hooks from several artists; La Pantera, Quevedo & Juseph. Formentera by Aitana & Nicki Nicole is bomb. Then suddenly... a song in Inglés! Where Are You Now by Lost Frequencies & Calum Scott is charting in España. Back to songs I barely understand, A Contracorriente by Alvaro Soler & David Bisbal makes me want to dance. And I rarely want to dance. Run run run.
Then the playlist takes a sharp left turn and we go into some hard electronic pop from Elderbrook, SOFI TUKKER, MEDUZA, bbno$, etc, etc, etc.
Special mention to Batshit by SOFI TUKKER and edamame (feat Rich Brian) by bbno$. So catchy, so weird, oh my god.
Unlike last month, my most meaningful song this month is very near the end. Run by OneRepublic has a really simple message that just keeps grabbing me.
Yeah one day well the sky might fall
Yeah one day I could lose it all
So I run until I hit that wall
Yeah I learned my lesson, count my blessings
Look to the rising sun and run, run run
May I always learn my lesson, count my blessings, and keep chasing life. Run. It's so short. Run run run.
