For my birthday in March Daniel got me tickets to see Carol Burnett at the Ryman (my favorite venue). Last night we had the privilege of attending the show. Reba McEntire sat a few sections away from us, it’s rare I see anyone out in Nashville I actually recognize. My face blindness makes it pretty difficult to celebrity spot.
The show was Carol taking audience questions, like she did during the filming of “The Carol Burnett Show”. Carol showed some hilarious bits on the big screen and it reminded me of more I shared with Daniel later. The entire show was charming. I feel so lucky to have gotten the chance to spend an evening with another of my childhood heroes.
Carol Burnett dedicated in the memory of Tim Conway, and it was a wonderfully fitting tribute. The entire audience laughed until we cried, and maybe just cried a little too.
