For the first episode of this project, I wanted something short, something my nephew—whom I’ve never met in person—might enjoy, and something that captures the feeling of spring. Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter felt like the perfect choice. Her stories were some of my childhood favorites, and I’m sure I once read them to my brother. Now, from afar, I get to share them with his children too.
Since this is my first recording and audio edit my wonderful friend Ryan helped me get my recording edited (EQ and some other things - I'll learn). After that I add in sound effects and it was ready to share.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed the process from choosing the book to sharing it here.

About Aunt Ammi Reads
I’m thrilled to introduce Aunt Ammi Reads! As a long-distance auntie, I’ve been looking for ways to connect with my niblings, and what better way than by sharing some of my favorite children’s books? I’ll be reading stories that are no longer under copyright, sourced from Project Gutenberg, and providing links for you to download them in your preferred ebook format or read them in your browser.
For those who love a physical copy, I’ll also share a link to purchase the book from your local bookstore via Bookshop.org. I don’t receive any compensation—I simply want to support independent bookstores. Plus, since these books are all in the public domain, you might even find a beautiful edition at your local used bookstore, which is a fantastic and sustainable option!
