Day Two in Denver

We've been having an absolutely amazing trip so far. After all the walking we did yesterday, today Daniel and I got a late start. We slept in then got ready at a snails pace. We packed KT tape for skiing and hiking but didn't use any yesterday. Today we were sore from yesterday so we taped up. Two people with hypermobility Elhors Danlos Syndrome really go through the KT tape. We each used the new knee tape on both knees, and Pro KT Tape on our ribs. I also taped my hips/butt. I had read about how good KT tape could be for our condition, but I think I really didn't have any clue just how amazing it would be. All day Daniel and I kept saying, "Is this what normal people knees feel like?" Neither of us know, but we're both hooked. I plan on also taping my shoulders and feet in addition to what's taped now for skiing day after tomorrow. Between the two of us we nearly used a whole roll of tape, I think we're going to have to buy stock in the company.

We were moving so slowly this morning (and taping up took way more time than we expected) so we didn't get out of the room until nearly noon. We went directly to Saucy Bombay, the restaurant we ordered online from last night. It was even more amazing fresh! Marshall is the owner. He moved to Denver in the 90's to open restaurants. This one has only been open for 9 months, but his other location has been in business for over 20 years! Today I had the naan and 3 sauces (2 Korma & 1 Tikka Masala) & Daniel had a chicken and rice bowl with Tikka Masala and Kadai sauces mixed.  Marshall let us watch him make the naan. We had never had the privilege of watching naan made in real life before. It was amazing! I seriously could not say enough positive things about Saucy Bombay, Daniel is currently walking there to pick up dinner. Yes, that's 3 meals in a row.

We headed straight to the Denver Art Museum after lunch. They currently have a Edgar Degas exhibit. It was absolutely wonderful. First we went straight to Degas and had the audio tour. Daniel and I both really enjoy Degas' style and how he displayed movement.

It was such a treat to see Degas work.  I studied him a bit in college and have always really admired the quality of his line and movement.

After Degas, we checked out "Stampede, Animals in Art". I enjoyed the wide range of cultures that were represented here, they had animals depicted in art from across the world and throughout history. They also had art, clothing, ceremonial clothing and furniture made from animal parts.

The variety here was a huge treat.  Our favorite was a HUGE piece, several feet wide and tall, of a couple peoples heads with a dog in the middle.  Odd and lovely.

We also saw "Ganesha, The Playful Protector". We enjoyed that entire exhibit very much. We were starting to get tired by this point so our attention wasn't great.

Beautiful, vibrant, and fitting with our favorite meal from our time in Denver.

There was also some amazing American art that I missed the name of the gallery, but they were in the museums collection. Some of my personal favorite paintings were in this last tiny room.

There were some great mid-western cloud and rain photos that had this lovely stylized look.  These caught our attention even though we were getting tired.

After the art museum we had planned to head to the Modern Art Museum. Unfortunately, I had misread that it would be closing at 7. Actually, it was closing at 5 which was only 30 minutes away by the time we were ready to leave. We didn't get to go to the second museum. There is always next time!

Instead we headed to Sculpture Park and Larimer Square to do some after-hours sight-seeing. We really enjoyed Sculpture Park, it had some amazing views. We walked from there to Larimer Square to do some souvenir shopping. It had several of the same stores we have in downtown Nashville, and we struggled to find much we liked for family. I did really enjoy the outdoor mall, I like the concept of being able to enjoy the outdoors while shopping.

We caught a Lyft back to our Bed & Breakfast. Daniel headed out to pick up dinner while I started on this update & getting our room ready to leave in the morning for the next stage of our adventure. Winter Park!

Tomorrow I have a massage and then we have a shuttle to Winter Park. We plan on resting tomorrow afternoon as much as possible so that we will be ready for skiing on my birthday!
